Step 1 : Please adhere to the following procedures to expedite claims, when loss / damage to cargo is discovered at the Sea Port/ Airport

Do not authorise delivery of cargo to the final warehouse. Notify EQI and forwarders/ carriers immediately for a joint survey immediately.

Step 2 : Submission of documents

Submit a written notice of claims immediately to the carriers, forwarders, Port Authorities, bailees and other parties concerned if there is any missing or apparently damaged cargo.

Step 3 : Ensure container seals are intact

Before delivery from the Sea Port/ Airport, ensure that all container seals for containerised cargo are intact.

Step 4 : Minimise Loss or Damage

If goods are in doubtful and apparently damaged condition, do not give clean receipts, except under protest. Take steps to minimise the loss or damage.

Step 5 : Co-operate with Appointed Representative

EQI’s appointed representative or adjuster will contact you and assist you with the claim settlement. Do supply them with the necessary information and documents.

Step 6 : Submission of claim form

Submit duly the completed marine cargo claim form with supporting documents to EQI.
