Am I eligible to apply for the EQ Student HealthPLUS?
To be eligible, you must be: a) A full-time student studying in Singapore. b) A Singaporean or a Singapore Permanent Resident. c) Age 6-25 years old. If you are below the age of 18 years, the application has to made and submitted through your parents or guardian.
When and how can I apply and pay for this insurance?
Application can be made anytime and you may submit your application either: a) On-line via this website or b) By completing the Application Form which has to be mailed together with your cheque payment (if preferred) using the Pre-printed Payment Form to: EQ Insurance Company Limited 5 Maxwell Road, #17-00 Tower Block, MND Complex, Singapore 069110
When will my policy commence?
Your policy will commence from the date your application is approved and premium payment received by EQ Insurance Company Limited.
Premium Before Cover Warranty
We assume no liability under this Policy until and unless the full premium is paid to and received by EQ Insurance Company Limited or the intermediary through whom this Policy was effected.
When will I receive the Insurance Certificate and Policy?
For online application, your approval will be immediate upon your submission and receipt of payment via the Payment Gateway. Your Insurance Certificate and Policy will be sent to your registered email. No hard copies will be sent. For Mail application, your Insurance Certificate and Policy will be sent to your registered Email within 5 working days upon receipt of your completed Application Form and payment. No hard copies will be sent.
When and how do I renew my current policy?
This program is a yearly renewable policy and we will invite renewal by sending you a renewal invitation notice a month before expiry to your registered email or mailing address with us.
What class of ward and hospital am I entitled to?
You can be admitted to a 1-Bedded, 4-Bedded or 6-Bedded ward in a Singapore Government-Restructured hospital depending on the Plan you have applied for.
Will my Pre-hospitalisation expenses be covered?
Yes. Your specialist consultation including diagnostic x-ray and laboratory tests are reimbursable provided the consultation is recommended by a registered medical practitioner and conducted within 90 days before hospitalization.
If I am required to seek follow-up treatment following my hospital stay, will such medical expenses be covered?
Yes. We will continue to reimburse you for your follow-up treatment by the same attending Physician received immediately after your discharge provided such treatments are received within 90 days from the date of your discharge.
If I am already suffering from some medical illnesses or conditions, will I be able to claim for such treatments?
No. the policy will not cover treatment for any pre-existing medical condition for which you are already receiving medical advice or treatment recommendation, medical treatment, diagnosis, consultation or prescribed drugs, even if the medical condition is unknown to you.
Will I be covered if I am hospitalized due to an injury?
Yes. The policy will cover you for any injury that requires hospitalization. However, it will not cover any injury sustained by you whilst you are involved or participated in illegal activities.
If I have to undergo a day surgery and no hospitalization is involved, will I be covered?
Yes. The policy will cover day surgery if it is medically necessary. There is no requirement for a minimum stay at the clinic or hospital.
Is there a minimum period of stay required for hospitalisation?
Yes. The minimum period of stay for hospitalization as an In-patient is 6 hours.
Will the policy cover me when I am out of Singapore?
No. Coverage is strictly within Singapore only.
Will MERS, SARS and Bird Flu be covered?
Yes. They are covered unless isolation or quarantine is required by law in the event of an epidemic.
Is there any deductible or co-payment?
There is no deductible or co-payment. The policy will pay from the first dollar onwards up to the specified limit of $20,000.00 per annum.
Is mental or psychiatric treatment covered?
No. They are not covered.
Are routine medical health screening covered?
The policy does not cover all routine medical health screening/examinations or any preventive care.
Are pregnancy related treatments covered?
Pregnancy and related treatments such as abortion, childbirth, and fertility are not covered.
Is Letter of Guarantee provided?
No Letter of Guarantee is provided as the program is strictly on reimbursement basis.
When will my policy expire?
Your policy will expire on the earliest of the following: a) When you no longer meet the eligibility requirements, or b) Upon the exhaustion of the overall maximum overall limit, or c) Upon the expiry of the policy, or d) Upon death.
Will I get a refund if I cancel my policy before its expiry?
No premium will be refunded unless the cancellation is made within the 14 days free look period.
Can I change the selected Plan prior to the policies expiry?
No. The plan cannot be upgraded or downgraded during the policy period.
