Who can buy?

EQ Travel Lite is ideal for a group of travelers on a trip to Batam, Bintan or Malaysia, which is organized by companies, churches, associations or any organization.

Who is eligible to be covered and how can a family be covered?

Insured Person(s) must be residing in Singapore, who is a Singaporean, Permanent Resident or Foreigner with a valid work pass, student pass or dependent pass.

A family cover may consist of 1 or 2 adults travelling with up to 2 children who are below 18 years or up to 24 years if studying in an accredited education institution. The child(ren) must be related to any one of the adults.

What is the minimum policy group size?

The minimum group size is 10. All Insured Persons must depart and return together as a group.

How to apply for this coverage?

Simply complete the application which can be downloaded from our website and submit it to us with the full premium payment.

What is the maximum duration for a trip to be covered?

Coverage is up to 5 days.

If treatment for a pre-existing medical condition is sought while on the trip, will it be covered?

EQ Travel Lite does not cover treatment for any pre-existing medical condition which medical advice or treatment had already been received prior to the trip.

If an illness or injury is sustained whilst overseas, can the medical treatment be done or continued upon return to Singapore?

Yes. It will cover the medical expenses necessarily incurred for medical treatment or follow-up treatment in Singapore for up to 30 days upon the date of return if medical treatment had already been sought overseas or up to 7 days if no prior medical treatment was sought overseas.

Can I seek Specialist Treatment without referral letter from GP?

You will not be able to do so as all treatments including specialist treatment must be prescribed or referred by a GP in order for expenses to be reimbursed under this Policy.

Is dental treatment covered?

Yes. It will cover the cost of dental treatment to restore sound and natural teeth caused by an accident.

Will it be covered if a bag is stolen while it was left on a table?

EQ Travel Lite does not cover for any loss, damage or theft of an insured’s property left unattended in a public place.

Are there any excluded sports or activities?

Accidents while engaged in racing, motor rallies and competitions, mountaineering (reasonably requiring the use of ropes), rock climbing and hiking/trekking in remote areas unless with licensed guides, pot-holing, any activity being airborne (whether suspended or not), not limiting to parachuting, hand gliding, bungee jumping, sky diving or high diving, underwater activities requiring the use of artificial breathing apparatus except leisure scuba diving under the supervision of a qualified diving instructor, sports or games in a professional capacity are excluded.

If the policy has to be cancelled, is there refund?

You will not be able to obtain a refund of premium once the policy is cancelled or when the trip commences.
